This informative map of Wisconsin identifies the large swaths of land designated for railroads and locates a wagon road from Fort Wilkins to Fort Howard in the eastern part of the state. A legend at lower left further identifies deposits of iron, copper, and lead as well as land offices throughout the state. Signed in the plate by Commissioner Joseph S. Wilson.
