This is the colophon to the 1590 edition of Porcacchi's L'Isole piu Famose del Mondo, which was one of the last of the notable island atlases. This edition was published by the heirs of Simon Galignani. The engraving features two female figures within an architectural structure, and at center a tower surrounded by the Latin motto: turris et fortitudo mihi deus (towers and the strength of my god).
