Finely detailed sea chart of the Straight of Dover. The coastline of France is covered from Nieuwpoort to Dieppe and the English coastline includes Ramsgate, Dover and Folkestone. A beautiful compass rose and fleur de lys orient the chart with north to the left. Beautifully engraved by Claude-Auguste Berey (originally for the Neptune Francois) and here issued by the Depot de la Marine, with its characteristic anchor mark decorated with three fleur-de-lys, and the price Trente Sols.
