Derived from Greenhow's treatise on the geography and history of the Northwest coast of America, and published by order of Congress in 1839. It was an important study designed to bolster the American case for all of Oregon that was then the lands from California to Russian America. Greenhow was the translator and librarian to the Dept. of State. Map and geographical view lacking, 2nd edition xx, 492 p., index, reproduction marbled endpapers. Beautifully rebound in brown leather with gilt spine.
