De Leth was successor to the Visscher firm and was a skilled engraver as well as a mapseller and publisher. This handsome and uncommon map is based on the work of the important French cartographer Guillaume de l'Isle. It is a very detailed and fascinating map of northeastern Africa, the Red Sea and the Arabian Peninsula showing the political divisions and kingdoms. The Nile originates in the Lake de Danee.
