Extremely rare map showing the coast of Brazil divided into Capitanias. This map is from a revised copper plate originally published in the 1628 edition of the Mercator Atlas Minor by Jansson. The title was translated into French and the cartouche revised. It is from Van der Aa's rare atlas that was only issued once and there is only one known complete copy extant, in the University Library of Leiden. We can find no examples having been on the market.
