Bird's-eye view showing the Capitol in its final stages of completion and just after a Confederate attack damaged the building. The scaffolding that will eventually be replaced by the capitol dome is depicted proudly flying the Stars and Stripes and the right wing is ablaze. Drawn by C.H. Andrews originally for publication in the Illustrated London News. Here copied for a French magazine in smaller format.
