Lot of four handsome bird's-eye views of Charleston. 1) Charleston S. C., drawn by J. W. Hill and engraved by Welltsood & Peters for the Ladies Repository, Views of American Cities, circa 1855 (8 x 4.8"). 2) Charleston, S. C. and its Vicinity, drawn by J. Wells and engraved by W. Ridgway and published by George Virtue, dated 1863. A key at bottom identifies 16 locations including Fort Sumter (8 x 5"). 3) City of Charleston, South Carolina published in Ballou's Pictorial Drawing Room Companion a weekly illustrated newspaper that was in competition with Frank Leslie's similar paper. Drawn and engraved by W.R. Miller, 1855 (9 x 6"). Accompanied by the article relating to Charleston. 4) The City of Charleston, South Carolina from Harper's Weekly, January 26, 1861. Seven locations identified along the bottom (13.7 x 9.3").
