A fine decorative map of Brazil with north oriented to the right. Two insets show Dutch interests in the area (Baja de Todos los Sanctos & Pernambuco). The interior is largely devoid of geographical information, instead it features scenes of native life including warfare, and cannibalism. Further decoration includes sailing ships and sea monsters and two decorative cartouches. German text on verso.

Dark impression and old color on a sheet with slightly trimmed margins. Toned or stained and with some offsetting from text on verso. Paper laid in at side margins to replace missing paper in one area nearly to neatline. Shows well despite flaws.
