This huge, colorful chart portrays world history from a Biblical prospective. This enormous map is bisected and laid on original canvas with each of its 32 segments measuring approximately 12.5" x 7". The map folds into brown cloth boards with the gilt title "Shimeall's Family Scripture Chart." It is a dazzling and colorful presentation of seven Biblically themed maps along with genealogical charts detailing the lineages from Adam up to Christ. The large and beautifully engraved title cartouche is embellished with the tower of Babel, Adam & Eve, and Noah's ark from which springs a family tree of Noah's heirs. A large engraved vignette near the bottom shows Christ standing on a rock, speaking to a crowd. The thematic chart details different epochs of history and is filled with an astounding amount of information. Shimeall was a theologian and author, and this collaboration with Tanner is very scarce. Includes the boards for its original folder, which are now separated.

Map and linen are very good. Covers are rubbed with some staining and separated at spine. Overall remarkable condition with some light toning mostly at segment edges, else very good to fine.
