Huge, handsome map on two joined sheets, detailing the course of the Rhine River, from its source in Switzerland, through Germany to its mouth on the North Sea, in the Netherlands. Also shows part of France and Belgium. The map is extremely detailed with mountains, rivers, forests, cities and villages. The map is adorned with a striking cartouche bristling with weaponry, flanked by a pair of allegorical figures, and surmounted by a coat of arms. The scale of miles cartouche is wine-themed, with grapes surrounding it and a chalice on top. This is the uncommon larger version rather than the normally seen folio map with identical title that is from the Atlas Nouveau.
