Italian edition of this attractive copper engraved map presented on a north polar projection. The map shows California as an island and the Pacific region is completely blank. Good detail in Europe and Asia, with even the Great Wall of China shown. There is little detail in North America except for a rendition of Lahontan's ideas of a river and lake system connecting with the Mississippi River, as well as a flirtation with the notion of a Northwest Passage. Ribbon style title cartouche.

Condition: B
There is a little bit of offsetting in map and a couple of almost invisible spots in the generous, blank margins.
