Very handsome depiction of the North Rhein-Westphalia region centered roughly on Osnabrucke. The cartography is based on a manuscript map by Christian Sgroten made at the request of Philip II of Spain in 1565. The map is adorned with three superb strapwork cartouches. This is from the Latin version of 1579.

Nice impression on a sturdy sheet of paper with original margins. There is an old paper repair in the bottom blank margin, not affecting the map.
