This fascinating map of Central Asia and the regions of Tibet and Nepal is one of the most interesting of Munster's Ptolemaic maps. The map is flanked by depictions of fantastic humanoid creatures reported to inhabit the region, including a dog-headed man, men with faces in their torsos, and a person using a single giant foot to block the sun. These monstrosities were based on a combination of classical writings, legends and medieval travelers' tales. In the upper part of the map contains a scene showing Anthropophagi (cannibals) carving up a person.
