An exquisite armillary sphere depicting the solar system surrounded with the signs of the zodiac. The sphere sits atop an elaborate rococo base garlanded with flowers. Panels of descriptive French text flank the chart, and are then surrounded in a decorative border that was printed from a separate plate. Drawn and engraved by Martinet with his imprint at the base of the sphere.

A nice impression on a sound sheet with attractive color. There is some pleasant toning.
