Large, finely engraved map of the southern part of South America with great topographical detail and notations throughout. The tracks of Magellan, Sarmiento, Brower, Beauchesne, Sharp, Sr. de la Roche, Halley and Vespucci and Amerigo Vespucci's ship is shown sailing in the Atlantic. The title cartouche features the Notus (the south wind) and Native American figures.

The original top margin is narrow (3/16") but adequate for framing and there are a couple tissue repairs on edge tears.
