Engraved in Coronelli's beautiful style, this map details the islands of Ischia and Procida along with a short stretch of the Italian coast to show the castle of Cuma. On Ischia the promontory and castle are dramatically shown. The decorative map includes representations of the mountains, houses, fields, roads, and more. The title cartouche features a royal crest with plumes. Coronelli was a Venetian monk well known for his beautifully engraved maps and atlases, but stands alone for his fabulous, large globes, many of which are seen today in museum. This picturesque island was the location for some of the filming of the classic film version of "Cleopatra" staring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Italian text on verso
