This is a fine map of northern Italy centered on the dramatic fortress of Mantua. This map is based on Blaeu's map of the same title and includes the unusual graphic depictions of the grain fields for which the Duchy of Mantua was renowned. The map is graced with a strapwork title cartouche incorporating the coat of arms and a scale cartouche.
