Designed by Schreiber and published by Homann Heirs, the handsome map centers on Zeitz and the Weisse Elster. It includes the fortresses at Naumburg, Weissenfels, Pegau, Altenburg and Gerau. A key at upper right provides the symbols used to distinguish eleven different types of cities, including fortresses, market towns, towns with castles, villages with churches, mills towns, etc. The pictorial title cartouche features a harvest scene presided over by Hermes and Demter.
