This rare woodblock map from Stumpf's Chronicle was made using the same woodblock as Honter's Cosmographia (1546). It is believed that Stumpf's Chronicle was such an excellent example of bookmaking that it incited Munster to make significant improvements to his second edition of Cosmographia. This map shows key towns and rivers in Sicily as well as the southern tip of Italy. The map is designed with North in the upper-left corner. German text to the left of map and on verso.
