This book contains papers presented at the International Sir Walter Raleigh Conference, Chapel Hill, NC, 27-28 March 1987, and papers read at a session titled "The Life and Work of David Beers Quinn" at a meeting of the American Historical Association, Chicago, 29 December 1986. 270 pp with illustrations. Softbound. Contents are clean with minor wear on the covers. (A)

B. The Traces of Thomas Hariot, by Muriel Rukeyser, 1970, (7 x 9.5"). Biography of Thomas Hariot. 366 pp. with illustrations. Hardbound with tan cloth boards, black spine and dust jacket. Contents and covers are very good. Dust jacket has a small rip on the back that is repaired with cello tape. (A)

C. Uncommon Obdurate: The Several Public Careers of J. F. W. DesBarres by G.N.D. Evans, 1969, (7 x 10"). Biography of DesBarres based on papers acquired by the Public Archives of Canada. 130 pp. with some illustrations. Hardbound in blue cloth covers with gilt titles on spine, with dust jacket. Contents and covers are in excellent condition. Dust jacket is slightly worn. (A)

D. The Discoverers: A History of Man's Search to Know His World and Himself by Daniel Boorstin, 1983, (6.5 x 9.5"). Daniel Boorstin’s story of our world is not the usual succession of battles and empires, but a tale of discoveries. He puts substance on many familiar names - Herodotus, Ptolemy, Marco Polo, Copernicus, and Kepler to name a few and brings back to life some truly remarkable individuals. 745 pp. Hardbound in black cloth with dust jacket.
