This regional map of the greater New York City area was one of the first created by the Committee on a Regional Plan of New York and its Environs. The committee was organized to address the needs of a growing metropolis and the associated impacts across local and regional jurisdictions. The map delineates county and state boundaries and shows highways and ferries, both existing and proposed. Concentric circles show various distances from New York City Hall.
