This is the second edition of de Fer's rare map of Southeast Asia, first published in 1709, and here with imprint of his son-in-law, Guillaume Danet. This detailed map depicts India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the island of Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Sumatra, and a portion of Java and Borneo. The map is filled with detail, particularly of the coastlines and small islands, including the tiny island of Sincapour (Singapore). There are several interesting notations throughout the map, and a table in the title cartouche lists the coordinates to 20 major cities.
