Great map of Texas produced in the cerographic method (wax engraving) that was pioneered by Morse. County development is very current to map's publication date with the counties correct to 1855. Each county is named with light red over printing. The large unorganized area in the center of the state is labeled Camanches and extends from the Rio Grande to the panhandle and the Staked Plains.
