This superb map of France has minute detail and is beautifully engraved and embellished. Sailing ships, sea monsters, and an elaborate compass rose fill the sea. The royal armorial at upper right is balanced in the opposite corner with a title cartouche representing the rich bounty of the land. English text on verso.

Condition: C+

A nice impression with wide margins, toning, and extraneous creases along the centerfold. Centerfold separations at top and bottom have been closed with old paper, and there are a few tiny additional separations.
