This rare sheet depicts the entire Mediterranean, divided into two charts, with the western portion at top and the eastern portion at bottom. The coastlines are filled with place names, and navigational hazards are shown in the coastal waters, including shoals and rocks. Tiny islands throughout the Mediterranean are numbered, with two corresponding tables identifying the names of each island. The chart is adorned with two compass roses and an allegorical title cartouche featuring Mercury.

A nice impression with a professionally repaired hole near centerfold at bottom of map. Numerous chips in the bottom blank margin have also been professionally repaired, a few of which just enter the neatline.
