This is an uncommon variant of the map Jansson issued in his historical atlas. It is based on Ortelius' map of the same title, and credits him in the title cartouche. It covers Celtic Europe and is fully engraved with forests, mountains and rivers, and there are several ancient tribal and place names. The map bears the same engraver's imprint of Everard Symonsz Hamersveldt and the cartographic content remains unchanged, but the cartouches have been simplified. Latin text on verso.
