This detailed map of northeastern South America extends from the Essequibo River to the mouth of the Amazon River. There is extensive detail of the rivers and mountain ranges in the region, including those that are "presumed." The mythical Lac Parime is shown at far left - a very late appearance considering its existence was disproved by Humboldt in 1804. Political boundaries, place names, and notations appear throughout.
