This intriguing map details the Lorraine region extending from Verdun in the north and south to Besancon. Densely engraved with illustrated topography, it is also embellished with two very decorative cartouches, including a title cartouche with an ecclesiastic theme. The second cartouche includes a key that helps identify Roman roads, royal palaces, sites of battles, and more.

A fine impression with full original color and some light stains. There are numerous short edge tears in the top blank margin and marginal soiling.
