This fascinating lot contains all the issues of Harper's Weekly from September 21, 1861 to December 28th, 1861 and is filled with illustrations depicting the war situation. Features 3 double-page engravings by Winslow Homer including "Bivouac Fire on the Potomac" (13.8 x 20.0"), and "Songs of War" (14.0 x 20.0"). Includes several maps. Of particular interest are two thematic maps that show the density of slavery by county in the states of South Carolina and Georgia. Missing the Map of the Southern States... in the November 9th, 1861 issue. All the issues are notched for binding but never bound.
