This handsome miniature map shows numerous interesting geographic misconceptions. Novaya Zemlya is shown attached to Russia, which is severely truncated to the east. Korea is depicted as an island, and the mythical Chiamay Lacus appears in East Asia with its 5 southerly flowing rivers. The Strait of Anian separates Asia from a large, round Americae Pars, where Serra Nevada and several other place names and rivers appear. In Indonesia, Java and New Guinea are only partially delineated, and a strapwork distance scale cleverly covers the area where a tip of the Southern Continent would usually appear.
