This is a reduced version of Sanson's map of the Persian Empire covering the region of present-day Kuwait, Iraq, and Iran with a part of the Arabian Peninsula. The map extends east to the mouth of the Indus River and is filled with cities, political divisions, and topographical details. Engraved by A. Peyrounin and decorated with a wreath-style cartouche.

Condition: B+
Original outline color with later color in the cartouche on paper with a bunch of grapes watermark and wide margins. There is light toning along the centerfold and minor offsetting. There are library stamps in the top corners of the sheet on verso, which show through on recto and are confined to the blank margins. This map was deaccessioned from the Universitat und Landesbibliothek Sachsen-Anhalt in 2010. Documentation is available upon request.
