This chart depicts the city of Tripoli in plan form with its fortifications. Batteries, an English fort, and the home of the British consul are located along the coast. In the water, there is plenty of navigational information, including soundings, hazards, small islands, and bottom type. A block of descriptive French text appears beneath the circular title cartouche at left. Drawn by Besancon and engraved by E. Collin. The engraved seal of the Depot de la Marine is at bottom right and Prix Deux Francs appears below neatline at right.
