This architectural title page was for Blaeu's atlas of Scotland, and depicts the royal coat of arms of Scotland in the top half, featuring a shield with the red lion of the King of Scots supported by two chained Unicorns. The motto above the crest, "In Defence" is a contraction for "In My Defens God Me Defend." The title imprint is pasted onto the sheet, as was common at the time of publication.

References: Van der Krogt (Vol. II) #2.25.

Condition: B+

Excellent impression with superb original color with gold highlights. There are a few faint spots of foxing, and extraneous vertical crease that runs the length of the sheet, a small abrasion along the neatline at left, and marginal soiling.

Estimate: $200 - $230
