This delicately engraved miniature map of the Balkans, centered on Bulgaria, extending east to the Black Sea (Mar Magiore) and south to include the Bosphorus and Constantinople. The map was engraved by the brothers Ambrose and Ferdinand Arsenius who had been assistants to Frans Hogenburg and co-engravers of Ortelius' folio Theatrum. This series of maps was accompanied by text by Michel Coignet and was published by Jan B. Vrients. Latin text on verso.

A nice impression with attractive color. There are faint damp stains in top corners, just entering the border a bit at top right, with a resulting chip at top right that has been professionally repaired.
