This chart depicts the island of Trinidad at top, with a detailed chart below of Point Gourde and the port of Chaguaramas. The island is depicted in good detail, including missions, Indian villages, and savannas. The Mountain of Tamana is portrayed within the interior, which is noted as being 'covered with impenetrable woods.' A number of foot paths and roads are shown including the Grand Chemin. Soundings, rocks, and shoals are shown surrounding the island. Engraved by E. Collin. The engraved seal of the Depot de la Marine appears at bottom left along with the price, "Deux Francs."

A nice impression on paper with a large eagle watermark. There are archival repairs to a 1" tear in the map at bottom left, and several edge tears, two of which just enter the map border.
