This large folding map of the United States is filled with illustrations that tie children's literature to geography. A sampling of the illustrations include: Little House on the Prairie (Kansas), Johnny Appleseed (Ohio), Br'er Rabbit (Mississippi), and Buffalo Bill (Colorado). The corners of the map are decorated with illustrations of well-known book titles. Compiled by Ernest A. Choate, and drawn and lithographed by J.L. Smith in Philadelphia.
