This very rare map displays the early circuit lines of the newly formed AT&T Company (founded in 1885). It covers the northeastern United States and west to the Great Lakes region. The map self folds to become a 3.7 x 8" promotional brochure with a wonderful illustration on verso of an early phone booth called a "long distance cabinet sound-proof booth." Another panel claims "the mail is quick, telegraph is quicker: but Long Distance Telephone is Instantaneous and you don't have to wait for an answer." Also on verso is an extensive list of telephone exchanges by city. An early and scarce AT&T advertising piece.
