This splendid plan typifies the style and format of a series of bird's-eye plans and panoramic profiles of major cities and ports published in Germany during the eighteenth century. At top is a map of the coastline showing the fortifications of the Algerian port of Oran and at bottom is a coastal view with a fleet of ships in the foreground. The chart is richly embellished with a large allegorical title cartouche featuring Zeus and his entourage.

Condition: B+

A dark impression with a few light spots in the map image and three short edge tears at bottom that have been repaired on verso with archival materials.
