This fascinating sheet includes several elements related to the Panama Canal and depict some of the first French surveys for a canal site. At top are several profile views of portions of the proposed canal. At bottom are a map of a portion of the Chagres River showing how it would join with the canal, and a close-up view of the mouth of the Chagres River. Published by N. Garella, and later republished in the Report on Nicaragua Canal by the US House of Representatives, 30th Congress, 2nd Session.
