This is the northern sheet of Delisle's important two-sheet map of the Russian Empire. The map is centered on Moscow and provides great detail of the towns, roads, forests and topography. The map is decorated with a nice title cartouche featuring a sleigh, coat of arms, animals and a hunter.

A nice impression on watermarked paper with original wash and outline color. There is a printer's crease adjacent to centerfold at bottom, an archivally repaired tear that just passes the neatline at bottom, and light toning and small damp stains along the edges of the sheet.
