This striking bird's-eye plan of Valletta gives impressive detail of the fortifications, buildings and streets of this port city along the eastern coast of the island of Malta. A numbered key at bottom identifies 57 important locations. A number of ships surround the city, several of which have fired cannons. This plan was first published by Blaeu in Theatrum Admiradorum, and the copperplate was later sold to Mortier. Several small cracks in the plate are visible in the title and numbered key at bottom. A beautiful and uncommon plan.
