This stunning panorama was created by Bill O'Neill and depicts Yellowstone National Park looking to the south. It presents the rugged topography with a three-dimensional quality along with the numerous lakes and rivers that line the valleys. O'Neill was quite intentional with his decision to look south, as glaciers in the northern hemisphere carved the mountains on the north side, so a view from the north would create the most dramatic effect. A legend at top left identifies campgrounds, ranger stations, landing fields, fire lookouts, and more. Surrounding the title are two playful-looking bear cubs and an erupting Riverside Geyser. Published in nearby Butte, Montana.
