An impressive, northern hemispheric map that is centered on the North Pole and shows the latest discoveries in the Arctic. Includes excellent detail within the continents including hundreds of place names and much information on watershed and topography. The northern coastlines of North America and Greenland are left open-ended and several notations provide additional context including: "Coast discovered by the Hunters of Merch Linkhov", "the Sea Seen by Mr. Mackenzie in 1789", and "the Sea Seen by Mr. Hearne in 1771."

On a sturdy sheet of "J Whatman 1810" paper. There are a few edge tears at top that extend into the title and a bit of extraneous ink in the top right blank margin, well away from the map image.
