This uncommon, detailed map of Tasmania is typically seen as an inset on other maps of Australia from the period. It shows the settled areas of Cornwall and Buckingham with 37 districts keyed to the map. Locates Hobart on the southern coast and Georgetown on the northern coast. A large unsettled region is unnamed in the west, with a notation near Sarahs Island stating it is "a place of Exile for Convicts, sent from Hobart Town." Drawn and engraved by John Dower.
