This pictorial bird's-eye view extends to cover both Glacier National Park in the United States and Waterton Park in Canada. At the time, it was the only national park on the main line of a transcontinental railway (Great Northern), which is here shown with a steady stream of tourists unloading from a train in the lower left corner. The map locates many popular destinations within the parks including Lake McDonald, Going-to-the-Sun Road, Logan Pass, and Prince of Wales Hotel to name a few. Recreational scenes fill the park interior with some amusing depictions including: ice skating mountain goats, hiking bears, a cruise ship in Waterton Lake, bowling on the "bowling green," and friendly bears greeting a fearful automobile tour group. The title at lower right is shown on an animal hide stretched across a ranch gate with a circling Indian dance. Signed in the plate by Joseph Scheurele. Blank verso.
