This is Ortelius' second map of the historic region of Belgium and the Netherlands. The ancient place names are based on classical sources, most notably Caesar. The map is richly engraved with forests, rivers and cities and adorned with four bold cartouches and a unique compass rose. Latin text on verso, published in 1595.

On a sheet with the crossed arrows watermark commonly found on Ortelius maps. There is some minor toning and a few errant spots of colorist's ink.
