This is the first edition of Mercator's map of Greece and the Aegean Sea. The map spans north to Albania, Macedonia and the Dardanelles. The sea is fully engraved with calligraphy in Mercator's characteristic style. The map is embellished with a small strapwork title cartouche and a decorative distance scale. French text on verso.

A crisp impression on a bright sheet with a short tear in the bottom blank margin and professional repairs to several minor separations along the centerfold.
