This is a very uncommon historical map of the region from Asia Minor and Egypt through Arabia and Iran. The title cartouche was printed from a separate plate, and different editions of this map exist with different title cartouches. Pierre Moullart inherited the copper plates of his grandfather, Nicolas Sanson, and added the Sanson suffix to his name to publish maps. His business was not successful, therefore his maps are very scarce.

Contemporary outline color on a bright sheet with a short centerfold separation at bottom and a large chip along the centerfold at top that has been professionally repaired using the original piece.
