This lovely bird's-eye view of Winnipeg was published less than a decade after the city was officially incorporated in 1873. At the time, the city had a population of only 15,000. Point Douglas and the Louise Bridge are prominent in the foreground. Several steamboats fill the waters of the Red River. The confluence with the Assiniboine River appears in the distance.
